Grease is making a comeback in the natural hair community. For years the natural hair community has been giving hair grease is a bad rap. Phrases such as “Grease is bad for your hair” “It clogs the pores” “Grease can stop growth”, have floated around for years. My take on the hair grease is that grease is NOT bad for their hair, it can actually help with moisture and length retention of the the hair. The ingredients in hair grease are not bad either. This blog post is showcasing the common ingredients found in hair grease that are actually great for the hair.
(A) Lanolin is great giving hair great shine. Lanolin also softens hair to make the hair more manageable. Lanolin also an excellent conditioning agent has a deep moisturizing effect on hair. Lanolin is also good the scalp which helps to minimize dandruff and itching. It also recommend to use combat against hair breakage.
(B) Petrolatum is a major ingredient found in hair grease. Using it can be effective to managing hair. It locks in moisture and also helps with dry scalp issues. It also help with cures of split ends. Split ends can make the hair look unhealthy and it can also cause breakage. Apply it directly to the ends. The drawback to petrolatum is the product build up. You will have to use a sulfate shampoo to remove it. All in all petrolatum is a GREAT product to use.

(E) Safflower Oil has a high content of oleic and linoleic acid which benefits the air tremendously. It can be used to treat baldness and hair loss.
